NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN head women's basketball coach Carlene Mitchell announced the signing of Arina Nikishina to a National Letter of Intent to continue her collegiate career with the Matadors.
"We feel we have added an impactful piece to our roster with the signing of Arina," said Mitchell.
A 6-6 post player, Nikishina will have two years of eligibility remaining after transferring to CSUN from Kursk State University in Kursk, Russia. Nikishina was a member of the Russian U16, U18, and U20 national teams.
"Having been on campus all Summer, Arina has made a seamless transition to CSUN both on the court and in the classroom," Mitchell said. "Arina will bring a physical presence to the paint, which was an element we were lacking."
Nikishina joins Cheyenne Givens (Pepperdine), Ana Carolina De Jesus (Eastern Florida State College), and Laney Amundsen (Fresno City College) as newcomers to the CSUN program.
