CSUN Completes Fall Season With Record-Setting Finish in Hawai'i

KAPOLEI, Hawai'i - The CSUN women's golf team carded a final round 1-under 287, its best round of the tournament, to finish 10th at the conclusion of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational Wednesday at Kapolei Golf Course.
With a tournament total of +21, 885 (308-290-287), the Matadors set a program record for 54 holes. The 2014 CSUN team held the previous record +23, 887 set at the Matador Invitational. CSUN's final round 1-under, 287 ranks as the third-best 18-hole total in program history.
Sophomore Gracie Piar led the Matadors, posting her second top-10 finish in four fall tournaments. After firing a 3-under 69 in round two, Piar had four birdies, one bogey and 13 pars in posting a final round 2-under 70. She finished the tournament tied for eighth at 3-under 213, her best finish since tying for fifth at the Red Bandanna Invitational on Sept. 25-26.

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Meghan Paracuelles, who posted rounds of 72-74 Monday and Tuesday, closed with a second straight round of 2-over 74. Paracuelles, who had three birdies on Wednesday, narrowly missed her second top-20 finish of the season tying for 27th at 4-over 220.
- Kim Turgut fired a career-low 5-under 67 in the final round to move up 26 spots into the top-30. Turgut had six birdies, 11 pars, and a single bogey in the final round to post CSUN's second lowest round of the season. She would end up tied for 30th 5-over 221.
- Elle Laur had a pair of birdies on Wednesday to card a final round 4-over 76. Along with rounds of 83-72, Laur finished 68th at 15-over 231. in round two to make the biggest move among CSUN players. Laur carded an even-par 72 to move 26 spots into a tie for 60th at 11-over 155.
- Nicole Tanoue rounded out the CSUN lineup, tying for 76th at 20-over 236 following rounds of 83-77-76.Â
- Ellie Shirley, competing as an individual, finished 91st at 32-over 248 following rounds of 84-86-78.
