CSUN Doubles Goes 3-0 at USC; Completes Long Beach State Tournament

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN women's tennis team completed a busy week of action at the USC Women of Troy Invite and the Long Beach State Fall Invitational on Oct. 8.
USC
Both CSUN doubles teams completed perfect 3-0 weekends. Victoria Santibañez Luna and Angela Ho shutout defeated Carla Pacot and Lucy Lu of UC Santa Barbara, 6-3. Sasha Turchak and Yuliia Zhytelna beat Tomi Main and Klara Kosan 6-0.
The Matadors posted two singles victories as Turchak and Ho earned wins, with Turchak going three sets against Lu.

"Sasha, Yullia, Vika, and Angela played with such fantastic supportive energy. They are all so hard on themselves, yet they can pick up their teammates when they are down. We played with our emotions controlled today, by far the best of the three days. I am happy for Sasha and Yullia to win the top prize, which they feel they share with Vika and Angela."
LONG BEACH STATE
Sofia Dermenjyan and Jasmine Tolmoyan won their consolation match in the Gold Doubles Bracket as the CSUN duo defeated Haily Huynh and Haily Hinton of UC Irvine 7-5.
Tallia Harper and Emma Moratalla Sanz were also victorious in the Gold Bracket's other consolation match. Harper and Moratalla Sanz defeated Asha Gidwani and Amanda Perez of UC Irvine Vine 6-4.
Harper lost in the finals of the Gold Singles Bracket in three sets to Cal State Fullerton's Milena Gevorgyan. Harper won the first set 6-4 before losing 6-3, 6-2 to the Titans' player.
Dermenjyan lost in the semifinals of the Grey Singles Bracket 6-3, 6-4 to Audrey Large of Cal State Fullerton. She will play in the consolation bracket on Sunday.
Tolmoyan fell in the finals of the Red Singles Bracket to Mathilde Tranberg of Long Beach State 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5).
