Lily Wahinekapu is 11th in the Big West in assists (2.8), 11th in free throw shooting (.761), and 13th in the Big West in scoring at 11.7 points per game. Kallin Spiller is second in the league in rebounding (7.2) and fourth in blocked shots (0.9).

LOOKING AT THE BIG WEST TOURNAMENT
Heading into the final week of the regular season, and while UC San Diego continues its transition to Division I and remains ineligible for the 2023 Hercules Tires Big West Basketball Championships, presented by The Hawaiian Islands, CSUN finds itself in eighth in the league (6-13).

The top six teams earn a first round bye, the Matadors sit two games of Cal Poly in the loss column. Due to the Mustangs' game against UC Irvine being canceled last week, Cal Poly will play one less game than the Matadors.

Cal State Fullerton (8-11) begins the week with the sixth seed, Cal Poly (6-11) is seventh followed by the Matadors. CSU Bakersfield and UC Riverside (3-15) are tied for the ninth seed.

The 2023 Hercules Tires Big West Basketball Championships, presented by The Hawaiian Islands begins Mar. 7 at the Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev.

JACKSON JOINS CSUN 1,000 POINT CLUB
CSUN guard Jordyn Jackson became the 14th Matador women's basketball player to score 1,000 career points on Jan. 21 at Cal State Fullerton. Jackson's 1000th point came at the 6:00 mark of the first quarter on a layup after she made a steal.

After scoring seven points against Long Beach State on Feb. 25, Jackson has recorded 1,109 career points. She is 14 points away from passing 12th place Patrica De La Riva on the CSUN scoring chart. Jackson is seventh in the Big West in scoring (13.1).

Jackson been successful at the free throw line this season. Against UC Davis on Jan. 11, Jackson made 11-of-12 free throw attempts. The 11 made free throws are the ninth most in a game by a Matador at the Division I level.
As of Feb. 25, she is shooting 87.1% (81-of-93) from the charity stripe which has her ranked third in the Big West and 28th in Di1vision I. The 5-4 grad student is 10th in the conference in steals per game (1.77) and ranks 217th in Division I to begin the week.

Jackson was one off the school record when she dished out 11 assists against Long Beach State on Feb. 25. She is fifth in the conference in assists (84, 3.2) and is ranked 238th (top 250) in Division I to begin the week. Her assist-to-turnover ratio is 1.18 which is sixth in the Big West and 243rd (top 250) in Division I.Â

She has moved to fourth in school history in career free throw percentage (.786), eighth in made three-pointers (120), eighth in minutes played (3,120), ninth in career three-point attempts (371), ninth in career assists (271), 10th in career field goals (397), and 10th in career field goal attempts (1,077).

AMUNDSEN NEARING 1000
Tess Amundsen began her collegiate career at Boise State before transferring to CSUN in time for the 2021-22 season. Amundsen has now scored 729 points in a Matador uniform and has scored 977 career points. She has started all but one of the 52 games in which she has appeared in a CSUN uniform.

Her career .856 career free throw percentage (125-146) and .493 (104-211) career three-point field goal percentage are both on pace to become CSUN school records. She is now 10th in school history in made career three-pointers. Overall, Amundsen, the defending Division I champion in three-point shooting percentage, has moved into second in Division I this week as she his shooting 49.5% (48-87) from long range. She is second in the conference in made three-pointers per game (2.0) and is 143rd in Division I.

Her free throw percentage (81.1) is the eighth best in the league and is 106th in Division I as of Feb. 25. TU'UA LEADS TEAM IN ASSISTS AND REBOUNDING; SECOND IN STEALS; third in scoringÂ
CSUN point guard Anaiyah Tu'ua is team leading in assists with 88 and is seventh in the Big West in the category (3.0).

Tu'ua is fourth in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4) and is 185th in Division I (250 ranked). The 5-9 redshirt sophomore leads the Matadors in rebounding at 4.9. She recorded her first career double-double at CSU Bakersfield when she tied her career career high with 17 points and reset her career high with 12 rebounds.

Tu'ua charted her second double-double against Long Beach State with 15 points and 11 rebounds. She is second on the team in steals (35) and ranks 21st in the Big West. She is fourth on the squad in scoring (7.2). Tu'ua hit the game winning basket, a three-pointer, with 4.7 seconds remaining at Long Beach State to give CSUN a 57-55 win against the Beach.
