CSUN Completes Outdoor Season at Outdoor West First Round

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—CSUN completed competition at the NCAA West Regional Friday night at Sacramento State's Hornet Stadium.
The 4x100m relay of Christopher Allen, Logan Davis, James Crawford, and David Phillips, Jr. improved upon their seed (24th) as the Matadors ran a time of 39.82 to place 22nd in the field. The time is the fourth fastest in school history, trailing the 39.68 that Allen, Davis, Crawford, and Phillips, Jr. posted at the West Coast Relays on Mar. 31.
Bryson Williams finished 38th in the triple jump. Williams put up a leap of 48-3 1/2 on the first of his three attempts. Williams beat his seed coming into the regional by 10 spots.
ACCORDING TO HEAD COACH JUSTIN JOHNSON
"I am proud of the way all these men competed today. I don't know if we could have asked them for more. They stayed focused all week at practice and competed well. I think we will leave this meet hungry for more. We know we belong at the national meet. We will take a few weeks off and then return to the grind. We will be back next year."
