The Titans took a 2-1 lead into halftime after scoring two goals in a 1:51 span with a little under 15 minutes remaining in the opening stanza. Marci Killeen tied the score at 32:11 before Roberto Ordonez put Cal State Fullerton ahead at 34:02.On the board first!

Rhead posted his second goal at 53:43, heading in a Michael Arrington cross.
Ordonez returned the lead to the Titans 48 seconds later when he converted a penalty kick attempt. Jamar Ricketts tied the score just under two minutes later. Jorge Solorzano sent Ricketts on an offensive rush. Ricketts dribbled the ball nearly 25 yards before scoring from the right to the low left of the Cal State Fullerton goal.JACK RHEAD AGAIN! ??

Ordonez capped off a hat trick when he tied the score at four in the 77th minute. Serrano's game-winning goal came off an Ordonez shot that went off the CSUN post. He found the rebound for his third goal of the season.ANOTHER ONE!

The Matadors nearly tied the score in the 88th minute when CSUN earned three consecutive corner kicks. Cal State Fullerton successfully defended the set pieces to secure the victory.
NOTES
- Rhead's brace was the first for CSUN since Daniel Trejo recorded two goals against UCLA on Sept. 15, 2019.
- Five different Matadors recorded an assist in the match.
- The nine goals were the most in a Big West match involving CSUN since Nov. 8, 2003, when the Matadors defeated UC Irvine 5-4 in double overtime.
- In their 22nd Big West Conference season, CSUN holds a 13-6-3 record in league opening matches.
- The Titans (7-2-2) broke a three-game losing streak in the all-time series. CSUN and Cal State Fullerton played for the 52nd time, with the Matadors leading the all-time series 26-19-7.
