Solorzano's Late PK Ties CSUN 1-1 With UCLA

LOS ANGELES--- Jorge Solorzano's penalty kick with 2:49 remaining in the second half resulted in a hard-fought 1-1 tie for CSUN at UCLA on Monday night.
ACCORDING TO HEAD COACH TERRY DAVILA
With three minutes remaining, Jamar Ricketts was taken down the box after UCLA turned the ball over. Bruins' goalie Sam Joseph tackled Ricketts, resulting in the Matadors being awarded a penalty kick. Solorzano was selected for the PK, and he beat Joseph to the low right part of the net.

CSUN hosts its first home match of 2023 on Thursday night when UNLV travels to Northridge. Coverage on ESPN+ begins at 7:30 p.m. after the CSUN women's soccer team hosts Idaho at 5 p.m. Ghizal Hasan anchors the coverage.

Cooper Wenzel made four saves in the second half, as the score remained 0-0 until the 83rd minute. Pabloe Greenlee passed the ball to Amjot Narang, who sent a cross to Jack Sarkos. UCLA had one final chance. Sarkos was awarded a free kick after a CSUN foul in the 90th minute. The Bruins sent the ball toward the Matadors' goal, where Grayson Doody had a shot blocked with 20 seconds left.
