CSUN opens the home slate this week against UNLV on Thursday night when the Matadors host the Rebels at 7:30 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the CSUN women's soccer team.

In its 45th season, the Matadors are 32-11-1 in home openers before Thursday. ESPN+ will stream the match, with Ghizal Hasan anchoring the coverage.

CSUN concludes a three-match week on Sunday night when the Matadors travel to California Baptist. ESPN+ will stream the match beginning at 7 p.m.

The Rebels fell to 1-2 on the year after losing 2-1 to UC Santa Barbara on Monday night. Nico Lopez scored the lone goal against the Gauchos on a penalty kick.

He is tied for the team lead in goals with two others (1), assists with two others (1), and points (3). Niclas Becker and Hugo Lemos have both recorded decisions in goal for UNLV. Lemos has posted six saves as he has gone 0-1. Becker is 1-1 with three saves.

CSUN defeated UNLV 2-1 last season in Las Vegas to take an 11-8 all-time series lead.

The Lancers are 0-2-1 entering this week's action. California Baptist will host California on Thursday night before welcoming CSUN to Riverside on Sunday.

Lincoln Aquino and Luis Mueller have scored the two goals for CBU this season. Dorian Drucks has played every minute in goal for the Lancers this season. He has made 14 saves on his way to a 2.33 goals-against average.

CSUN's Jamar Ricketts earned Big West Offensive Player of the Week and was named to The Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week on Sept. 4.

Ricketts scored a goal and recorded two assists as the Matadors defeated No. 12 San Diego on Sept. 1.
He currently leads the team in assists (2) and is tied for the team lead (6) in points with Jorge Solorzano. He has scored two goals, the second most on the team. Â

BUSTAMANTE NAMED DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bryan Bustamante was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 4.

Bustamante anchored a CSUN defense that played a man down for the final 26 minutes of the San Diego match due to a red card. The CSUN defense withstood nine USD shots in the last 26 minutes) and turned back a San Diego offensive attack that outshot the Matadors 24-8 for the game (8-4 on goal).
