FOR STARTERS
CSUN looks to end the 2024 season on a winning note in the regular season finale at Cal State Fullerton. The Matadors have been eliminated from postseason contention but hope to play spoiler to Cal State Fullerton as the Titans are still looking to secure a spot in the Big West Championship. CSUN wrapped up its home schedule last week, finishing the year at 1-2-5 at Matador Soccer Field.
LAST TIME OUT
The Matadors went 0-1-1 in two matches last week, earning a conference point. Last Wednesday, CSUN gave first-place UC Santa Barbara a battle on the road before the Gauchos pulled out a 4-3 victory. CSUN went down 2-0 over the first 12 minutes before roaring back to tie the match on first-half goals from Arturo Reveles and Deryk Jones, Jr. UCSB eventually scored the next two goals to go ahead by a 4-2 margin, but CSUN fought back once more on a 78th minute goal from Jones. The Matadors would hit the woodwork in the closing minutes, however, UCSB held on for the 4-3 win. Jones' brace was the first of his career and the second by a Matador this season, joining Jorge Solorzano (at California Baptist).

Marley Edwards, one of eight seniors honored before the match, struck the net via a penalty kick in his final home match. The Matadors led 1-0 for most of match, but the Mustangs found the equalizer in the 59th minute off a free kick.
