Matadors, Piar in the Lead at WMU Bronco Classic

PORTAGE, Mich. - In its first-ever appearance at the WMU Bronco Classic, the CSUN women's golf team holds the team lead while junior Gracie Piar is also in first place in the tournament hosted by Western Michigan on Monday at The Moors G.C.
The Matadors (611) carded rounds of 309-302 to carry a three-shot lead over Ohio (614) into Tuesday's final round. Host Western Michigan (618) is third, followed in the top five by Central Michigan (632), IU Indianapolis (635). A total of nine teams are competing.
CSUN also holds the individual lead for the second straight tournament as Piar finished with rounds of 72-73 to finish at 1-over 145 and carry a two-shot lead into the final round. Notre Dame's Anna Heck is second at 3-over 147 with fellow Matador Ariya Soldwisch also in the top four.

The Matadors will be paired with Ohio and IU-Indianapolis for the final round which tees off Tuesday morning.

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Piar had five birdies in round one and was as low as 2-under through 15 holes. She finished the round bogey-par-bogey to close out a round of even-par 72. Piar then added three more birdies in round two to finish at 1-over 73. Her nine birdies leads the field through two rounds.
- Coming off a first-place finish at the Eagle Invitational, Soldwisch opens the final round just seven shots behind her teammate. Soldwisch carded rounds of 78-74 to finish the day at 8-over 152. She is tied for second in the field with seven birdies over her opening 36 holes.
- Nicole Tanoue is tied for 10th at 11-over 155 after rounds of 76-79.
- Meghan Paracuelles is tied for 20th at 15-over 159 after posting scores of 83-76.
- Kim Turgut rounded out the CSUN scoring as she is tied for 39th at 22-over 166 following rounds of 83-83.
