NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---Three members of the CSUN Men's Soccer team collected All-Big West accolades on Tuesday, the league office announced. The trio of senior Marley Edwards, junior Deryk Jones, Jr. and sophomore Jorge Solorzano each were named to the All-Big West Second Team.

A native of Chilliwack, B.C., Edwards wrapped up his Matador career this season and finished with career best numbers in his third season in Northridge. Edwards was third on the team in goals (3), points (8) and assists (2) while he totaled 30 shots with 10 on goal as he served as the Matador team captain. He played in every match on the season, starting 13 of 17 and totaling 989 minutes at forward. Two of Edwards' three goals came in Big West play including a penalty kick he delivered on Senior Night.
From 2022-24, Edwards played in 54 career matches with 43 starts while registering four goals, three assists and 11 points. His All-Big West selection is the first postseason award of his career after he took home Preseason All-Big West accolades this year.

Originally from Slidell, La., Jones had a breakout first season with CSUN in 2024. Playing on defense and on the attacking front, Jones led the Matadors with 11 points and tied for the team lead with four goals to go with three assists and 16 shots with eight on goal. He played in 12 matches, starting all 12 of those contests and totaling 816 minutes on the pitch. Jones scored twice in Big West play, both of which against UC Santa Barbara for his first career brace. He closed the regular season ranked 12th in the Big West in goals and 13th in points.
Jones began his collegiate career at Portland where he spent four seasons but was limited to just four games due to injuries in his time with the Pilots. The All-Big West Second Team honor is the first all-conference honor of his career.

Solorzano followed up his Big West Freshman of the Year campaign with a standout sophomore season in 2024. The Palmdale native finished tied for third on the team with Edwards in goals with three to go with seven points and one assist. Solorzano topped the Matadors with 35 shots, good enough for ninth in the Big West, and nine shots on goal. He started a career-high 16 matches, playing in 17 total while amassing 1,309 minutes on the field. In Big West play, Solorzano hit the net once, which was an equalizer against UC Davis in a 2-2 tie.
