CSUN Adds Transfer Tiara Westbrook to Roster

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN head softball coach Charlotte Morgan has announced the addition of transfer Tiara Westbrook to the Matador roster for the 2024-25 year.

A 5-7 infielder, Westbrook joins the Matadors after spending her freshman collegiate season at Oregon State in 2024.

"We are ecstatic to have Tiara join our Matador family," said Morgan. "She has competed against top players and shows her passion for the game through action. Tiara brings extraordinary power and strength both on offense and defense. Coming from a softball family, we are thrilled to have her, and her family join us. I am eager to see her grow as an individual, as well as bring that beast out on the field."

Originally from Arcadia, Calif., Westbrook played in 16 games with Oregon State this past season and started once as she was primarily used as a pinch hitter. Her first career hit would be a pinch-hit two-run homer against ranked UCLA. Westbrook finished the season with three RBI, two walks and one homer in 17 total at-bats.

Westbrook prepped at Arcadia High School and spent four years on the softball team, playing at first base, in the outfield and in the circle as a pitcher. She played for coach Al Gills as well as her father Darnell Westbrook.

Westbrook would collect a host of awards in high school including three first-team all-area selections and two all-league honors. She also was named Pacific League Co-Player of the Year as a junior. Extra Inning Softball ranked Westbrook as top 30 player as well in 2023.

As a senior, Westbrook batted .465 at the plate with nine homers, 32 runs scored and 30 RBI while she previously batted .543 at the dish as a junior. She collected 22 homers and 115 RBI with a .461 batting average over her prep career. Westbrook also played club softball for the Corona Angels.
Westbrook joins Elisa Gulfin, Makenzi Padilla, Larissa Flores and Rhea Furtado in the CSUN Softball 2024-25 recruiting class.
