9/19/2024 10:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN head women's basketball coach Angie Ned has announced the 2024-25 schedule featuring 14 home games at Premier America Credit Union Arena along with three NCAA Tournament teams on the docket.
CSUN is scheduled to meet eight total teams with winning records from last season including five programs coming off 20-win seasons.
"The start of the season is less than 50 days away," said Ned. "Our team is working hard, and we're excited for the opportunity to compete. Our non-conference schedule is tough. It includes teams from the Mountain West, Big Ten, WAC and WCC. All will be instrumental as we prepare for Big West conference play."
CSUN kicks off the 2024-25 slate with its home opener on Monday, Nov. 4 against La Sierra. The Matadors will embark on an early season four-game road stretch beginning with Utah State on Nov. 8. From there, the road swing continues with a test against USC on Nov. 12. The Trojans are coming off an NCAA Elite Eight appearance a season ago.
The Matadors next take on a pair of Mountain West teams in Fresno State (Nov. 22) and San Jose State (Nov. 24) to close the road trip. The first month of the season will close with the Matadors hosting Pepperdine on Nov. 27.
CSUN opens Big West play with a pair of WNIT participants from last season as the Matadors visit UC Riverside on Dec. 5 in the conference opener before hosting Cal Poly on Dec. 7.
Non-conference play resumes on Dec. 11 with the Matadors hosting California Baptist, another NCAA Tournament team as well as the reigning WAC champion from last season. CSUN then makes the trip to San Diego on Dec. 14 before closing non-conference action on Dec. 21 hosting Idaho.
The Matadors ring in 2025 with a home matchup with Cal State Fullerton on Jan. 2 then hit the road for the next two games. CSUN faces Big West runner-up UC Davis on Jan. 4 and squares off with defending Big West champion UC Irvine on Jan. 9 in road clashes.
Four of the next five games will be played within the friendly confines of Premier America Credit Union Arena. CSUN takes on Cal State Bakersfield (Jan. 11) and reigning Big West regular season champion Hawai'i (Jan. 16) at home before traveling to Long Beach State (Jan. 23). The month concludes with two more home games against UC San Diego (Jan. 25) and UC Santa Barbara (Jan. 30).
