
CSUN Shoots Final Round 299, Finishes 18th at Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The CSUN men's golf team finished with its best round of the tournament on Monday to finish in a tie for 18th at Air Force's Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at the Eisenhower GC.
The Matadors, who finished with a team score of 902, improved each round after an opening round (+20) 308. CSUN posted a (+11) 299 on Sunday before finishing the final round at 7-over 295. Colorado State (850) led from start to finish to earn the team title by nine shots over Utah State (859). The Rams' Matthew Wilkinson also led the entire way to claim individual medalist honors at 10-under 206.Â

"I challenged the guys on our final nine holes today and was happy to see us respond by shooting 6-under. We've just to keep working and getting better and get ready for our tournament in two weeks."
The Matadors will next host the annual Bill Cullum Invitational on Oct. 7-8 at Saticoy Country Club in Somis.

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Bryson Barnes had CSUN's low round of the tournament on Monday, firing an even-par 72 to move up 15 spots into a tie for 43rd at 6-over 222. Barnes had two birdies, 14 pars, and two bogeys in the final round.
- After opening with rounds of 76-73, Nick Fry finished at 5-over 77 on Monday to drop into a tie for 60th at 9-over 225. Fry led CSUN with five birdies on Monday.
- Liam Judkins also had his best round on Monday, finishing at 1-over 73 which moved him into a tie for 71st at 11-over 227.
- Domenic De Luca also had a good final round, finishing at 1-over 73 to move up into a tie for 78th at 12-over 228. De Luca finished with four birdies, second-most on the squad.
- Yuo Torii rounded out the CSUN lineup, finishing 105th at 23-over 239 following rounds of 82-77-80.
- Dillon Jonke, playing in the individual tournament, finished with rounds of 74-72-77 to finish tied for 24th at 223.
