Men's Golf Tied for 11th After Two Rounds of Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. - Junior Liam Judkins followed up an opening round 2-under 70 with an even-par 72 on Friday but slipped into a tie for 22nd at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
As a team, CSUN had three players finish at even-par, but the Matadors slipped from a tie for eighth into a tie for 11th following a second round 7-over 295. CSUN (586) is tied with Fresno State for 11th place but is just one shot out of the top 10 heading into Saturday's final round. Pacific (539) holds a 13-shot lead in the team competition while San Diego's Ian Maspal continues as the individual leader at 10-under 134.
Judkins, who began the day tied for 15th, had one eagle and a pair of birdies in round two. After making both his birdies on the front nine, he made the turn at 2-under before finishing 2-over on the back nine. At 2-under 142 for the tournament, Judkins heads into the final round just four shots out of the top 10.

"We had three guys shoot even-par today, which was a positive, but again, we left a lot of shots out there. The goal for tomorrow will be the same as it was today, I'd like to see us score in the 280's

- Following Judkins, sophomore Nick Fry is tied for 40th at 1-over 145. Fry, who opened with a 1-over 73, had four birdies in a round of even-par 72 on Friday.
- Junior Ethan Posthumus was the third Matador to finish at even-par, finishing with a pair of birdies on the front nine and all pars on the back nine. He is currently tied for 45th at 2-over 146.
- Tavin Boman added two birdies on Friday in a round of 7-over 79, which dropped him into a tie for 86th at 11-over 155.
- Bryson Barnes opened the day at 2-over 74. but was disqualified in the second round for an incorrect scorecard.Â
- Domenic De Luca, competing as an individual, followed up a 2-over 74 in round one with a 3-over 75 in round two and is tied for 64th at 5-over 149.
