NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - CSUN Men's Golf head coach Jim Bracken has announced the signing of three student-athletes to continue their golf careers for the Matadors.
The trio of Mason Ho, Freddie Carcamo, and Brecht Hulsman comprises the 2026-27 CSUN Men's Golf class.
Ho, a sophomore transfer from California Baptist, competed in nine tournaments for the Lancers and coach TL Brown in 2025-26. Over his nine rounds, he posted a 74.2 scoring average. His best finish of the season was 31st place at CSUN's Bill Cullum Invitational in February. Ho carded a tournament total of 15-over 231 following rounds of 77-74-80. A Portland, Ore. native, Ho prepped at Reynolds High School where he was a three-time conference champion, three-time conference player of the year, and two-time all-state team member.
"Mason is going to be a great addition to the program," said Bracken. "He has one Division I season under his belt at CBU and knows how to win. He's won some junior tournaments, and he's had a great summer. Mason has been a consistent under-par scorer and has lots of upside and potential. We're looking forward to having him on the team for the next three years."
Â
Carcamo played his freshman season in 2025-26 at Ventura College, posting a 76.1 scoring average. Carcamo posted a runner-up finish at the SoCal Regionals (74-69--143) and tied for eighth at the state championships with a 4-over 148 over 36 holes at SilverRock Resort in La Quinta. He also tied for sixth at the WSC Golf Championship with a score of 144 (73-71) in April 2026.
"Freddy had a solid year at Ventura College, finishing in the top six in scoring in the conference," said Bracken. "He tied for first at the JUCO championship and seventh at the state championship. He's coming in as a sophomore and has played a lot of tournaments. He had some good results this summer and will be a consistent scorer on the team."
Â
Hulsman spent the 2025–26 season at Reedley College in  Reedley, Calif. As a sophomore, Hulsman fired a 2-under 70 to earn medalist honors against Taft College and a tie for 1st place with a 70 at Ridge Creek. At the 3C2A State Preview/Championship, Hulsman finished 11th overall on the individual leaderboard with a 76-80–156.
"Brecht finished second in his conference in scoring last year at Reedley College," said Bracken. "His team had a great season, and he finished 11th at the state championship. We've had a lot of success with international players; the guys we've had in the program have taken care of business on and off the golf course, and I think Brecht will continue that. All three guys are outstanding student-athletes and are going to make the team that much better starting this fall."
