Four CSUN Tennis Players Named to Academic All-District Team

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — Four players from the CSUN women's tennis team were named to the 2026 Academic All-District Team on May 12, as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Angela Ho, Nicole West, Emma Moratalla Sanz, and Tallia Harper were named to the team.
The CSC academic awards program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The academic qualifications for the distinction are a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average. Nominated student-athletes must have participated in at least 70 percent of the team's games this season and should be a starter or important reserve on the field of play.
Originally from San Francisco, Ho completed her fourth and final season with the Matadors in 2026, picking up an All-Big West First Team for singles and doubles in the process. Ho garnered a 13-9 singles record this season. She opened up the season with five wins in the non-conference part of the schedule. When it came to Big West opponents, Ho found the winner's circle against UC Riverside, UC San Diego, Hawai'i, UC Irvine while also besting Cal State Fullerton in the Big West Championship.
West ended her Matador career with a stellar 2026 campaign as well. She finished 11-7 in singles play, and was named to the All-Big West First Team in doubles with Ho. Her doubles record was 15-6. She also collected her first Big West Player of the Week honor on April 21.
Moratalla Sanz was named an All-Big West Honorable Mention to go along with her Academic All-District honors. She finished the season with a 17-6 record in singles play, leading the team in wins in the process. She also had a strong showing in doubles with her partner Sandra Arguelles. The duo was honored with a spot on the Honorable Mention team as they went 10-8 in doubles play, solely playing at the second position.
Harper earns her first career Academic-All District honors in 2026. Harper finished 9-11 in singles play. She also went 3-1 in doubles competition, winning the last two matches of the season in doubles.
