ACCORDING TO COACH JASON ZARB-COUSIN
"On both sides, we ran exceptionally well against some very competitive teams in our region, the conference and some top-10 teams nationally in Division II. Going into the races, we had a plan to be aggressive in the latter half of the race, and I felt like we executed the plan in both races, and moved up to sixth in the men and eighth in the women. We are improving each week and the team's confidence is growing as a result. We have a pretty tough block of training starting next week, so we need to carry this momentum into the next few weeks.
"There were so many great performances tonight individually. We had several career bests in the 8k for the men and in the 6k for the women, which includes Thomas Achten, Darrick Jacob, Jr., Diego Rodriguez, Yadira Arnold and Sakura Divecchio. We also had several run tonight's race distance for the first time ever so to be able to run well given the lack of familiarity is encouraging especially for the future as they get more experience. Specifically, Elijah Stenberg, Adam Divinity, Lilit Arakelyan, Nadia Munoz, Brianna Torres and Ailani Valiente."
