Despite the late pressure by the Eagles, CSUN closed out the final minutes without conceding a goal, sealing the shutout in front of the Matador faithful.

Â
DRUCKS EARNS BIG WEST HONORS
Drucks took home Big West Defensive player of the week on August 25 for the two games in Oklahoma to kick off the season. The 6'3 junior from Essen, Germany, was the goalkeeper responsible for two shutouts this past week versus Tulsa and Oral Roberts. Drucks was vital in the fact that it was the first time since Sep. 24-28 of 2022 that CSUN had had back-to-back shutouts.
Â
It is the first time in Drucks' career that he has been named Defensive Player of the Week by the Big West.
Â
FINDING THE NET TO BEGIN THE YEAR
Zack Harris, Pineda and Solorzano have accounted for the Matador goals this year. Harris had the game winner against Oral Roberts on August 24 with 12 minutes left to play to propel CSUN to its first win of the new season. Pineda, the senior from Sylmar had an early goal last time out against Biola. Pineda forced a turnover near the top of the box before slotting a shot into the right corner of the net for his first goal of the season. The goal was unassisted.
Â
Solorzano buried a penalty kick after the Eagles were whistled for a foul in the box. The goal doubled the Matadors' lead at the 40 minute mark.
Â

Â
Last time out, during the home opener against UNLV, the Redhawks played to a scoreless tie, even after dominating possession and shots—12 shots to 3, corners 11 to 2.
