From there, Marjorie Krueger hit the back of the net for a 2-0 lead while CSUN closed the final two minutes of the first period with three goals from Raygan Caroll, Leah Huisar and Alexis Smith for a 5-0 lead. Furuholmen capped her dominant first half with her fourth goal to put CSUN ahead 11-2 at intermission.
Â
In the third quarter, Mackenzie Wood hit two early goals while CSUN wiped away a late 2-0 Occidental run with three straight Mira Dravucz tallies to pull ahead 16-5 through three periods. Five Matadors hit the scoring column in another dominant fourth quarter where the Matadors outscored the Tigers 6-2. Sofia Martinez, Furuholmen, Dravucz, Krueger and Carroll were among the goal scorers in the fourth period en route to a 22-7 victory.
CSUN-LA VERNE RECAP

Meanwhile, the Matadors jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter as Smith, Huisar, Cooper, Dakota Bumbaca, Wood, Ashley Strickland, Martinez and Furuholmen supplied the goal scoring. In the second period, CSUN would score just twice, netting two Dravucz goals on power plays for a 10-0 lead at halftime.Â
The stifling Matador defense finally gave up their first goal at the 6:18 mark of the third period, but CSUN responded with a 3-0 run as Dravucz added two more goals and Carroll hit the net as well. CSUN took a 13-2 lead to the fourth period where the Matadors went on to outscore the Leopards 3-2.
