Ortiz made 15 appearances with four starts in the circle ... posted a 1-2 record with a 2.91 ERA and 11 strikeouts over 33.2 innings ... registered one complete game as well on the year ... lowered her ERA to 0.50 in seven appearances in Big West play ... earned her first career win with a five-inning complete game, scattering two hits to Pacific (2/17/24) ... fanned a season-high five batters over four innings vs. Rutgers (3/9/24) ... tossed three shutout innings vs. Cal State Fullerton (4/6/24) ... hurled 3.2 shutout frames vs. UC Riverside (4/19/24).
PRIOR TO CSUN
A 2023 graduate of Perry High School … named first-team All-Conference, first-team All-State, and first-team All-Region as a senior as the team advanced to the 2023 Arizona 6A Softball State championship game … helped lead Perry High School to a 23-8 record and a second-round appearance in the playoffs in 2022 … hit seven home runs (raising her career total to 12) and went 6-2 as a pitcher with 68 strikeouts in 61.1 innings as a junior … threw the school's first perfect game on Mar. 2, 2022, against Skyline High School, and then hit three home runs in a game on Mar. 3, 2022, against O'Connor High School … named to AIA All-Regional team in each of three seasons with the Perry program … CLUB EXPERIENCE: a member of the Mexican National Team program … played for the Batbusters Stith club.

Daughter of Saul and Angelica Ortiz … favorites include the University of Arizona Softball team, Jennie Finch, Kevin Hart, Jennifer Lopez, The Vampire Diaries, The Little Mermaid, Mexican Food, Grupo Firme, Drake, and Youtube.com … chose CSUN because she believes in the program and the coaching staff, and she believes she will grow as a player at CSUN in its very welcoming environment … says greatest sports moment so far is playing in the 2023 Arizona State Championship … says the best thing about being an athlete is the number of relationships she has made and the places she has gotten to visit through the sports she plays, also learning so much about myself and how mentally strong she can be in overwhelming situations … says the toughest thing about being an athlete is learning to balance school and softball … says the best athlete she has played against is Oklahoma commit Gabby Hernandez … the most famous person she has met is Jennie Finch … the person in history she would like to meet is Martin Luther King, Jr. ... would like to switch places for one day with Kylie Jenner … her greatest hero is her father, because he has come almost nothing to build a beautiful family and being able to give his kids the opportunities he never got.
