CSUN - 2024 (Sophomore)
Murakami appeared in 25 games, making 20 starts ... batted .279 with 12 hits, eight RBI, seven runs, four walks and two doubles in 43 at bats ... did not commit an error in 73 chances ... fourth on the team in assists (46) and double plays (4) ... improved batting average to .324 with seven RBI in 18 Big West games ... collected an RBI single to clinch a run-rule win over Pacific (2/17/24) ... doubled and drove in two runs at UC Davis (4/12/24) ... recorded a season-high three hits to go with two runs scored and an RBI vs. UC San Diego (5/4/24) ... named an NFCA Scholar-Athlete.
CSUN - 2023 (Freshman)
Walked 32 times in 46 appearances, tying her with Savannah Horvath (2018) for the fourth most in a season by at Matador player at the Division I level ... her 32 walks were the second most in the Big West ... walked three times against Memphis on Feb. 10 before receiving three free passes against Colorado State on Feb. 17 ... walked three times again, this time against Long Beach State in game one of the Apr. 1 doubleheader ... the three three-walk performances are the second most in a game by a Matadors’ player at the Division I level ... she finished the regular season ranked 27th in Division I walks per game (0.70) ... led the squad in assists with 91 ... second on the club in fielding chances with 174 (74-91-11) ... tied for fourth on the team with Kylie Galindo in at-bats (105) ... recorded 16 hits, scoring 19 times, the fourth most on the team ... recorded nine RBI, three doubles, and one triple.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2022 graduate of Maryknoll High School … helped team win the 2022 Datahouse/HHSAA Division I Softball championship … went 3-4 with a home run, three RBI, and four runs scored in 2022 state tournament semifinal game … led the state in hits with 35 as a senior … selected 2022 Division I First Team All-Hawai’i by ScoringLive.com ... hit .519 to lead conference in batting in 2021 … scored 21 runs and posted 20 RBI as a junior … named first team All-League as a senior after hitting eight home runs ... named honorable mention All-State and first team All-League as a freshman … a member of the Principal’s List with High Honors ... CLUB EXPERIENCE: played travel ball for Firecrackers So Cal-Brashear … a member of the Team Polynesia 18U that won the 2022 Triple Crown Softball International Challenge.

Daughter of Ross Murakami and Erin Kobayashi … a History major ... favorites include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chris Taylor, Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson, Grey’s Anatomy, The Princess and the Frog, Udon, Dan & Shay, Summer Walker, and shop.lululemon.com … chose CSUN for the competitive nature, work ethic, and culture of the program … also chose CSUN because she feels  that with the coaches she can grow and develop as a person and player … says her greatest sports moment so far is finishing top 3 in the country at the Alliance National Championship … says the best thing about being an athlete is finding success through working hard and feeling the joy of winning and competing, meeting new people and creating friendships through sport ... says the toughest thing about being an athlete is dealing with adversity and failure, there are days where you won't succeed and have bad games but being able to come back and do better is what makes a great player … says the best athlete she has played against is Keegan Rothrock … the most famous person she has met is Jocelyn Alo … the person in history she would like to meet is Kobe Bryant … would like to switch places for one day with Tiare Jennings … the two people she would like to have dinner with are Geno Auriemma and Kobe Bryant … says her greatest hero is her grandma because she's a widow, but one of the best people to exist … says she inspires her and makes her a better person, giving her advice and always being there for her.
