Travis Beck was used as a pinch hitter twice at Sacramento State and singled in his first career at bat and also had an at bat against #22 UCLA. Beck made his first appearance on the mound against Washington and allowed one hit in one inning of work. He pitched a season-high two innings with two strikeouts against San Diego (3/3) and walked to force home a run at San Diego State at the Aztec?Invitational the next day. Beck made his first collegiate start as the DH against Rhode Island (3/13). He pinch hit, drew a walk and later scored at #13 Cal State Fullerton (3/31). Beck came in as a reliever and struck out a batter in the ninth inning against UC?Davis (5/19). He pitched an inning and struck out a batter at CSU?Bakersfield (5/22).
REDWOOD HIGH SCHOOL
Beck was a two-sport athlete for the Rangers, also competing in football. During his time at Redwood, he earned All-League, All-County and MVP honors in both baseball and football. Beck played in both the infield and outfield and also pitched on the baseball team, collecting 18 home runs, 33 walks and a 1.83 ERA in the process. As a student, Beck earned CSF honors and was named to the honor roll and graduated in 2011 with a 3.95 GPA.
