Mendes made 16 appearances and started eight games as a true freshman ... went 3-3 with 25 strikeouts and a 7.68 ERA in 41.0 innings of work ... limited batters to a .239 average ... made eight appearances with five starts in Big West play ... earned his first career win after striking out two batters over 1.1 shutout innings vs. BYU (2/22/25) ... tossed three shutout frames and struck out a pair to pick up a win vs. Columbia (3/18/25) ... pitched a quality start, working six innings and allowing three runs vs. Hawai'i (3/30/25) ... worked a season-high seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits to secure a win at UC Davis (5/15/25).Â
