Zhang competed in eight tournaments and 23 rounds as a freshman ... finished his first season with a 78.1 scoring average after taking 1,797 strokes over 23 rounds ... fired an even-par 72 in the opening round of the Folino Invitational (Jan. 30-31) which was his low for 18 holes ...  low 54-hole total was 13-over 226 at the Visit Stock Pacific Invitational (Oct. 27-29) ... best finish of the season was 47th at the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational at Southern Utah (Feb. 13-14).
