2022 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team
2022 (SENIOR): Named to the 2022 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team...selected honorable mention All-Conference...led the Matadors in assists with five and was tied for seventh in the Big West in the category with one other player...scored his first career goal against Saint Mary's on Sept. 21...tied for third on the squad in points with David Diaz (7)...took 10 shots, tying him with Oscar Cardenas for the seventh most on the team...played 1,397 minutes, the fifth most on the Matadors.
2021 (JUNIOR): Appeared in 10 matches, playing 531 minutes...started eight times...recorded one assist, on the Jamar Ricketts goal in the 2-0 victory over then No. 30 UC Santa Barbara Oct. 30...took four shots, two on goal.
2020: Did not compete as the Big West canceled all Fall 2020 sports due to the COVID-19 crisis.
PRIOR TO CSUN: Played for Antelope Valley College from 2018-19…named 2019 Western State Conference Defensive Player of the Year…selected to the All-South California State Region Team as a sophomore…scored one goal and had two assists during career...led AVC to 17 victories in 28 appearances for the Marauders.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2018 graduate of Quartz Hill High School…named second-team All-League as a sophomore…team won Golden League title during sophomore and senior seasons.
PERSONAL: Son of Albert Gonzalez and Rachel Lewis…a criminology & justice studies major...favorites include the Brazilian National Team, Sergio Ramos, Kevin Hart, Melissa McCarthy, Money Heist, Southpaw, Migos, Polo G, and chicken and rice…chose CSUN because it was close to home so his family and friends can come to all of his games to support the team…has worn the No. 3 since he was five years old…the most famous person he has met is 50 Cent…the person he would like to meet in history is Arturo Gotti…he would like to switch places with for one day is Cristiano Ronaldo…two people in history he would like to have dinner with are Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan…the best advice he has been given is “never give up and keep pushing until I make it right”…”his advice to young people is invest time in yourself to make yourself better and keep pushing even when things don’t go your way”…his heroes are his parents who he says push him and support me in everything I do.
