2008 (SENIOR): Named Co-Big West Conference Goalkeeper of the Year with Cal Poly’s Eric Branagan-Franco...selected first team All-Conference...after taking the net for all 19 games for CSUN, finished with a 1.12 GAA, 83 saves, a .783 save percentage, six shutouts, and a 8-7-4 record...ranked fifth in the Big West in goals against average (1.12), third in save percentage (.783), tied for second in saves (83), second in saves per game (4.37), and third in shutouts (6)...as one of the most successful goalkeepers ever to wear the Matador jersey, ranks among the best ever to play in the Big West as he ranks second in goalie wins (38), matches in goal (79), and goalie minutes (7,469), fourth in shutouts (25) and seventh in goals against average (1.00) on the Big West career lists...named Academic All-Conference.
2007 (JUNIOR): Chosen second team All-Conference...started 19-of-20 matches...missed the first start of his career for Senior Day, when departing senior Peter Bomar started between the pipes...posted 7.5 shutouts on the year, giving him the CSUN career record at 21...also moved into first place all-time in career wins, with 29...moved into second all-time with 207 career saves and 60 career matches in goal...went 324 minutes without surrendering a goal, a streak that started on Sept. 7 and ended on Sept. 20...named Academic All-Conference.
2006 (SOPHOMORE): Selected honorable mention All-Conference...started every match between the pipes for the second straight year...played all but 10 minutes...had a 0.90 goals against average, three solo shutouts and four total shutouts...made 62 saves...earned All-Big West Academic honors...made a season-high nine saves at nationally-ranked UCLA on Aug. 26, going on to earn Big West Player of the Week honors...was second in the Big West in goals against average and third in saves...selected Academic All-Conference.
2005 (FRESHMAN): Earned third-team College Soccer News All-Freshman, first-team All-Big West Conference and Goalkeeper of the Year honors...started all 22 matches in net, posting a 0.89 goals against average, eight solo shutouts and three shared shutouts...the total of 9 1/2 shutouts marked a Northridge single-season record...was first among Big West keepers in shutouts and second in goals against and saves with 69...posted solo shutouts against Dartmouth (Sept. 5), Stanford (Sept. 9), Cal State Fullerton (Oct. 11), UCLA (Oct. 14), UC Riverside (Oct. 22), Cal Poly (Oct. 26), UC Davis (Oct. 29) and UC Santa Barbara (Nov. 2)...went 457 minutes without allowing a goal during the Matadors’ five-match shutout streak, which was a school record...had a seven-save match at Cal Poly on Oct. 26 and made six saves in three other games...named Big West Player of the Week on Sept. 12 after shutting out Stanford and tying nationally-ranked Cal in Berkeley.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2005 graduate of Chino Hills High School...a two-sport athlete...played four years of soccer under head coach Kyle Shuler...earned All-Sierra League accolades his last two years and was named team MVP in his freshman and sophomore campaigns...posted a 1.10 goals against average and a pair of shutouts as a senior...played four different positions in football, including kicker...named All-League as a quarterback and earned Most Valuable Player honors all four years...made the CIF playoffs twice with the football team...graduated with a 3.67 GPA.
PERSONAL: Son of David and Sandy Guppy...majoring in criminal justice...has on older sister, Alison...favorites include the Anaheim Angels and the movie “Fight Club”...chose CSUN because of the soccer team’s success now and in the future...lists his greatest moment in sports as leading Chino Hills High School football to its first ever CIF playoff victory...once played against soccer phenom Freddy Adu...goes through the same routine before every match...would like to switch places one day with Ty Pennington.
