2009 (R-SENIOR): Competed in every match but one, with eight of his 17 total shots on-goal…earned his second career game winning goal against Loyola Marymount (Sept. 6).
2008 (R-JUNIOR): Four of Gomez' 18 shots found the back of the net in the 12 games he played in…was named to the starting lineup on ten occasions..12 of his 18 shots were on goal…finished the season with eight points…scored his first goal of the season against CSU Bakersfield (Sept. 5)…scored his second goal in as many games against UNLV (Sept. 7)…lit up the scoreboard against Sacramento State (Sept. 17)…broke a 1-1 tie at UCLA (Sept. 28) with his fourth goal of the season…earned a hardship exemption due an injury sustained.
2007 (R-SOPHOMORE): Played in 17 matches, making 11 starts…scored the game winner in the Matadors 6-1 drubbing of Detroit Mercy to open the season…had three shots on five occasions…put 10 of his 22 shots on goal for the year…played in 63 minutes of the Matadors' 0-0 draw with Memphis.
2006 (R-FRESHMAN): Played in 18 matches, making four starts…earned his first start at West Virginia (Sept. 2) and started three straight from Oct. 21 to 28…netted his first collegiate goal in a win against UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 27) scored his next goal one match later against UC Davis (10/1)…took a total of 22 shots on the season.
2005: Gomez did not appear in a match due to injury.
2004 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the CSUN program.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of Grant High School…a three-sport athlete…played at the forward spot for four years under coach Frank Ortiz, was a kicker on the football team ('01 and '03), and member of the track squad ('03) winning Sunset Six League titles with every team…scored 41 goals in his senior season in which he was nominated as Player of the Year…named Most Inspirational varsity soccer player in 2002…also earned All-League kicker honors ('01) and special teams player of the year accolades ('03)…graduated with a 3.2 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Maria Uribe and father is Juan Arias…a criminal justice major…has two younger brothers, David and Pedro…lists his greatest moment in sports as when he broke the school record for most league goals scored (41) in a single season…watches television when he has time to relax.
