2022 (SOPHOMORE): Recorded two assists, tying Jack Rhead for fourth on the team in the category...played 597 minutes in 18 matches...started eight times...took 10 shots.
2021 (FRESHMAN): Appeared in all 18 matches, starting 12 times...played 1,062 minutes, the sixth most on the team...recorded lone assist of the season during the Oct. 20 Cal State Fullerton match...took 15 shots, the fourth most on the club...his 10 shots on goal were the third most on the team...named Academic All-Conference.
2020: Did not compete as the Big West canceled all Fall 2020 sports due to the COVID-19 crisis.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2020 graduate of Elk Grove High School…CLUB EXPERIENCE: played for the Sacramento Republic club program…averaged eight assists per season in four developmental academy seasons.
PERSONAL: Son of Gualberto and Linda Cardenas…a communication studies major...favorites include Barcelona FC, Toni Kroos, Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Breaking Bad, The Maze Runner, and enchiladas…the most famous person he has met is Clint Dempsey...the person in history I would most like to meet is Muhammad Ali…the person he would like to switch places for a day with is Kanye West...the best advice he has been given is “things may get difficult but pressure makes diamonds”…his advice to young people is “take risks because the only thing that can happen when you do that is that you learn and can better yourself from that”…his greatest heroes are his mom and dad because they have sacrificed a lot for him.
