Spencer joined the Matadors are spending a season at Cal Lutheran from 2021-22 where he coached sprints, relays and hurdles. He would also spent 2021 with Defiance College (D-III) in Ohio.
From 2019-21, he served as assistant track & field coach and cross country coach at Ohio Wesleyan University (D-III). While at OWU, Spencer coached an All-American and multiple NCAC champions in both the men's and women's long jump, triple jump, hurdles, 100 meters, 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. He also coached several athletes to new school records.
Prior to OWU, Spencer has a six year run as head track & field coach at Thousand Oaks High School from 2013-19. Spencer put together five-time league champions in the men’s 110-meter hurdles, long jump, and triple jump as well as three-time Marmonte League Team Championships.
Before Thousand Oaks High School, Spencer served as head coach at Agoura Hills High School for four seasons, where he won the CIF State Discus event. He also won the league and CIF Division 4 title at Saint Bonaventure.
Spencer was also an assistant track & field coach at California Lutheran University and Occidental College, where he coached Conference Champions in the long and high jump. Spencer would serve as an assistant football coach as well at Moorpark College, Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills, and Beverly Hills High School.
Tracy Spencer attended the University of Findlay in Ohio, where he competed in track & field, football, and basketball. During his Oiler career, he set school records in the high and triple jump. He was the first Findlay student-athlete to qualify for the NAIA national track & field championships, qualifying a total of six times, three indoors and three outdoors.
A native of Fostoria, Ohio, Spencer earned his bachelor's degree in Business Management and an MBA from Findlay.
