Aitana Rivera joined the CSUN Sports Medicine staff in June of 2023 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. She works primarily with the Matador women’s basketball and men’s and women’s track and field programs.
Prior to CSUN, Rivera served as an Athletic Training Fellow at Oregon State University where she worked primarily with the women’s cross country and track and field teams. While at OSU, Rivera implemented orthopedic preventative and rehabilitation plans, and oversaw various pre and post operational care.
Rivera earned her master’s degree in athletic training from California Baptist University in 2022. While in Riverside, she gained hands-on experience working with multiple sports including track and field, football, softball, and basketball within NCAA Division I, community college, and high school levels.
Rivera earned her bachelor’s of arts degree in exercise science from Fort Lewis College in 2019. She has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association since 2022 and has been a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer since June 2022.
In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, staying active, and traveling.
