CSUN -Â 2014 (Sophomore)
Sam Holt appeared in 25 matches and 82 sets during his sophomore season ... earned All-MPSF (honorable mention) honors for the first time in his career ... led CSUN with 319 kills while averaging 3.89kills per set which ranked sixth in the MPSF ... hit .278 on a team-high 735 attacks ... also led the Matadors in aces with 21 (0.26 saps) and had 83 digs (1.01 dps) and 24 blocks (0.29 bps) ...earned MPSF Player of the Week accolades on Apr. 7 after putting down a career-high 37 kills (.484) in a five-set win over No. 9UCLA (Apr. 3) and 18 kills (.333) in a four-set win over No. 5 UC Santa Barbara (Apr. 5) ... also had 32 kills on 61 swings (.393) against No. 2 BYU (Mar. 8) ... reached double figures in kills 14 times in 25 matches ... served a career-high three aces against both No. 15 Ohio State (Mar. 15) and No. 9 UCLA (Apr. 3) ... narrowly missed his first collegiate double-double with 10kills and a season-high eight digs at No. 7 USC (Mar. 21).

Holt appeared in 13 matches and 32 sets as a redshirt freshman ...finished the season with 65 kills while averaging 2.03 kills per set which ranked third on the Matadors ... wound up hitting .174 on 172 attacks ... also recorded 25 digs (0.78 dps) and 10 blocks (0.31 bps) ... notched his first collegiate kill in a six-kill effort at No. 14 Cal Baptist (Jan. 30) ... pounded a season-high 18 kills in his first collegiate start at top-ranked BYU (Feb. 2) while hitting .286 on a season-high 35 swings ... narrowly missed his first double-double with eight kills and nine digs against fifth-ranked UCLA (Mar. 15) ... had his only two aces of the season at Cal Baptist and BYU. PURCELL MARIAN HIGH SCHOOL
Holt lettered in both volleyball and basketball at Purcell Marian High School in Cincinnati, Ohio ... earned Player of the Year and first team All-GCL honors as a senior in 2011 ... was named Co-Player of the Year in 2010 and garnered first team all-league honors in 2009 ... the Cavaliers went the State Final Four in 2010 under coach Dan Wanstrath ... was a four-year starter as well as team captain ... graduated in 2011 with a 3.0 grade point average.
