Eric Chance appeared in a career-high 25 matches and 90 sets in his second season ... started 24 matches at middle blocker ... posted a career-best 108 kills while averaging 1.20 kills per set ... hit a team-high .458 on 190 attacks which would have ranked fifth in the MPSF but didn't meet the minimum number of attacks ... was the Matadors' second leading blocker after recording a career-high 67, including a team-leading 19 solo stuffs ... also had career-highs in digs (35) and aces (6) ... put down a season-high 10 kills in CSUN's straight set win over UC Merced (Jan. 4) ... posted a career-high nine blocks, including four solo in CSUN's 3-2 win at No. 5 UCLA (Feb. 15) ... was one of three Matadors named to the 2017 MPSF All-Academic Team, his second straight season being named All-Academic.
CSUN - 2016Â (Redshirt Freshman)
Chance appeared in 21 matches and 57 sets as a redshirt freshman ... started 15 matches at middle blocker ... totaled 67 kills (1.18 kps) while hitting .353 on 136 attacks for the season ... ranked third on the team with 52 total blocks, averaging 0.91 blocks per set ... also recorded 21 digs, three assists and two digs in his first season ... pounded a season-high 12 kills while hitting a season-best .857 on 14 swings in CSUN's 3-1 win over No. 13 USC (Jan. 15) ... recorded six blocks twice, against Cal Baptist (Jan. 13) and vs. UC San Diego (Feb. 19) ... was one of three Matadors named to the 2016 MPSF All-Academic Team.

Chance competed in both volleyball and basketball at El Segundo High School in El Segundo, Calif. ... was a two-time All-CIF and All-Area selection ... also earned All-Pioneer League accolades and was league MVP as a middle blocker for the Eagles under coach Tim Hovland ... was the teams' kill leader for two seasons ... also picked up all-league honors as a power forward/center for the basketball team ... graduated in 2014 with a 3.3 grade point average.
