Nathan Merren appeared in 20 matches and 43 sets as a redshirt sophomore in 2023 ... made seven starts at opposite ... finished the season ranked sixth on the Matadors with 47 kills while averaging 1.09 kills per set ... hit .236 on 106 attacks ... also added 31 digs (0.72 dps), four aces (0.09 saps), and 11 blocks (0.26 bps) in his first season ... made his CSUN debut against No. 2 UCLA at the UCSB Asics Invitational (Jan. 5) ... posted his first collegiate kill in CSUN's 3-0 win over Lincoln Memorial (Jan. 7) ... put down a season-high 11 kills against The Master's University (Jan. 18) and hit a season-best .714 with 10 kills on 14 errorless swings against Cal Lutheran (Jan. 13) ... also had a season-high seven digs against CLU ... was named the CalHOPE Courage Award winner for February, 2023.Â
