2019 Second Team All-Conference
2019 (SENIOR): Named second team All-Conference…was fourth in the Big West in goals scored (8) and was seventh in points (19)…finished fifth in the league in points with 21…added three assists…took 49 shots, the sixth most in the Big West.
2018 (JUNIOR): Second on the team in goals (5), points (14), and shots (44)…tied for second on the team in assists with Michael Flores (4)…scored both goals in the 2-1 victory over Seattle U Sept. 9…tallied a goal and an assist in the 3-2 Big West Tournament loss to UC Davis Oct. 31…started in each of his 17 appearances for the Matadors, playing 1,088 minutes.
PRIOR TO CSUN: Led Fresno City College to the 2017 CCCAA State Championships…was named CCCAA Tournament MVP as he scored what proved to be the game winning goal in the 2-0 championship game against Taft College…chosen 2017 NSCAA Division III Junior College Player of the Year as he scored a CCCAA high 25 goals and dished out 13 assists for a total of 63 points…selected NSCAA Division III Junior College first team All-American in both 2016 and 2017…earned Central Valley League MVP on two occasions as well as being selected All-State on two occasions.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2016 graduate of Washington Union High School…a three-time All-League selection…named team MVP four times and was named to the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame upon graduation…lettered in football, golf, and track.
PERSONAL: Son of Alfonso Rodriguez and Raquel Gaytan…a liberal studies - interdisciplinary studies major…favorites include Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo, Chris Paul, Kevin Hart, Alison Williams, Sportscenter, Jumanji, and Drake…the best advice has been given is to “keep your head up”…his advice to young people is to “keep working hard and never give up”…his greatest heroes are his parents.
