2011 (SENIOR): Started 47 games...batted .200 for the year, but raised average to .277 in 17 league games...added 15 runs, 22 hits, three doubles, her first career triple and five RBIs on the year...also posted career high 14 walks, three sac flies, three sac bunts and a stolen base...finished year with a .953 fielding percentage in 214 chances, finishing with 86 put-outs and 118 assists...had 13 hits, seven runs, one double and triple and two RBIs in league season...finished the year with five multi-hit games...tied a career high with three hits against San Jose State in season opener on Feb. 11...tied a career high with two runs scored against Cal Poly on May 1...had a stolen base against UC Riverside on May 7...triple came against UC Santa Barbara on April 22...ended career with 97 hits, 52 runs, 12 doubles, 37 RBIs, 31 walks and 18 stolen bases...selected Academic All-Conference.
2010 (JUNIOR): Started all 53 games...set new career highs in batting average (.243), runs (23), hits (35), doubles (8), RBIs (18), total bases (43) and walks (10)...named Big West Player of the Week on March 29 after she batted .714 (5-of-7) with two doubles and three RBIs in the Matadors swept a doubleheader against Utah...sported a .957 fielding percentage (93 PO, 109 A, 9 E) for the season...had a career high three hits in two games...tied a career high with two RBIs in both of the Matadors’ victories over Cal Poly...finished second on the team with eight sac bunts...stole three bases...scored 10 runs and had nine RBIs against Big West opponents...selected Academic All-Conference.
2009 (SOPHOMORE): Was the only Matador to start all 50 games during 2009 season, all at shortstop...set new career highs with .216 batting average, 10 runs scored, 29 hits, nine RBIs, 29 total bases, five walks, nine sac bunts and 11 stolen bases...tied for team lead in sac bunts, hit by pitches and stolen bases...was a perfect 11-of-11 in stolen base opportunities...scored a career high two runs in two different games...recorded career high three hits at UC Santa Barbara on Apr. 11...registered career high two stolen bases on two separate occasions...laid down two sac bunts in CSUN’s victory over Oklahoma State on Mar. 13...led team with 139 defensive assists while adding 72 put-outs with .939 fielding percentage in 225 chances...ranked among Big West top 10 in sac bunts, stolen bases and defensive assists...selected Academic All-Conference.
2008 (FRESHMAN): Started 26 games and appeared in 35 contests...hit .190 for the season, but raised her average to .250 against Big West Conference opponents...finished the year with 11 hits, four runs and five RBIs...picked up six of those hits and two runs in games against Big West Conference opponents...smacked only double of the season and drove in two runs against San Jose State on Feb. 17...also had two RBIs against Saint Mary’s on Mar. 2...finished tied for third on the team with four sacrifice bunts...provided Matadors with steady defense, finishing the season with a .978 fielding percentage, committing only two errors in 92 chances.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Alhambra High School...was a four-year letter winner...coach was Dave Carter...named MVP of the Diablo Foothills Athletics League following the 2005 and 2006 seasons...selected to All-DFAL First Team following 2004 season...member of 2004 DFAL championship team...graduated with a 3.8 GPA.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Shelly Chaparro...majoring in finance...has one brother, Michael...also recruited by San Francisco State, Sacramento State, Illinois and Stanford...chose Northridge because of the beautiful campus and the camaraderie of the softball team...lists some of her favorites as actor Brad Pitt, the television show Friends” and baseball Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn...would want Natalie Portman to play her in a movie...can’t imagine going a week without text messaging.
