CSUN - 2024 (R-Senior)
Whatman completed her CSUN career with a second straight All-Big West Second Team selection ... started all 51 games, mostly at third base while she led off throughout the year ... ranked second in the Big West in runs scored (44) and home runs (10), fifth in slugging percentage (.614), eighth in RBI (28), ninth in on-base percentage (.443) and 11th in hits (50) ... topped CSUN in homers, slugging, runs, RBI and walks (17) while she was second in hits and doubles (8) and third in batting (.327) ... was second on the squad with 70 assists ... batted .306 with 22 runs, 16 RBI and four homers in Big West play ... finished with 15 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games on the year ... hit a go-ahead two-run homer in a win over Maryland (2/10/24) ... scored three times and hit a game-tying homer vs. Utah Tech (2/16/24) ... belted two homers, collected three hits and drove in five in a win at Long Beach State (3/29/24) ... knocked in three runs including a homer and a game-winning RBI hit to beat UC Santa Barbara (5/10/24) ... named to the Big West All-Academic Team, an NFCA Scholar-Athlete and to the CSC Academic All-District Team ... selected to the Australian Women's Softball Team for the 2024 WBSC World Cup.

Selected second team All-Conference ... led CSUN in runs scored with 33 and tied for the team lead in home runs (5) with Kaylee Escutia ... was hit by a pitch a team-high 16 times (the fourth most in a season by a CSUN player at the Division I level), and with her 22 walks (second on the team), she posted a team-best .465 on-base percentage ... also led the team in doubles (11) ... tied for the team lead in stolen bases (7) with Kennedy Gustin ... in Big West-only statistics, Whatman was third in on-base percentage (.495), third in runs scored (23), third in walks (16), and fifth in doubles (7) ... selected as a Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete.
PRIOR TO CSUN
Appeared in 18 games for San Diego State during the 2022 season … started seven times … posted five hits in 25 at-bats … scored three runs … recorded two doubles and four walks … began US collegiate career at Pensacola State (Junior) College in 2020 … posted a .255 batting average and 11 RBI in 19 games as a true freshman … selected FCSAA first team All-State and first team All-Conference in 2021 as she hit .368 with 10 home runs and 31 RBI … started all 39 games and scored 32 runs … charted a .684 slugging and .413 on-base percentage … team went 30-9, won the Panhandle Conference title, and advanced to state tournament … graduated with an AA degree and a 4.0 grade point average … a member of the 2022 Australian Development Spirit program … a member of the Australian Junior National Team that played in the 2019 ISF Junior World Championship … the 2019 national MVP … the 2017 batting champion … played club softball for the Glenmore Phantoms for coach Wayne Frost.

Daughter of Corey Lyzwa and Michelle Whatman … a criminology and justice studies major ... favorites include Ryan Reynolds, Sandra Bullock, Criminal Minds, A League of their Own, Chicken Schnitzel, Maroon 5, The Weeknd, and Netflix ... chose CSUN because she loves the area in which the school is located … says greatest sports moment so far is defeating China in the 2019 World Championships to enter the bronze medal game … says the best thing about being an athlete is getting to play the sport she loves ... says the toughest thing about being an athlete is maintaining mental strength when things aren't going her way … says the best athlete she has played against is Gabbie Plain … would like to switch places for one day with Queen Elizabeth … says her greatest hero is her mother because she is awesome and is incredibly strong.
