Gabriela Griego played in all 33 of CSUN's beach matches in 2023 ... played with two partners; 32 times with Abbey Sweeting and once with True McCullough ... playing with Sweeting mainly as CSUN's No. 5 pair, finished the season with a program record 20 wins which also ranks second for a career pair behind Darbi Honeycutt/Mikaela Maughan's 43 wins ... finished 15-8 in the No. 5 slot, 4-3 at No. 4 and 2-1 in the exhibition (No. 6) pair ... with 20 wins as a pair, Greigo and Sweeting broke the single season record of 18 wins held by three CSUN pairs (Klein-Rogers, Brydon-McMurray and Owens-Sato) and earned second team All-Big West honors for the first time ... tied with Sweeting for most individual wins (21) which matches Rogers' single-season record from 2022 when she also won 21 times.

Griego spent two seasons playing beach and indoor volleyball at Irvine Valley College in Irvine, Calif. ... earned first team All-Orange Empire Conference honors for the Lasers' beach volleyball team in 2019 ... her team won a conference championship in 2019 ... also earned first team all-conference honors as an outside hitter for the indoor team ... averaged 2.95 kills and 0.51 digs per set on .297 hitting in 2019 ... was also named to the CCCAA State All-Tournament Team.Â
SANTIAGO HIGH SCHOOL
Griego lettered in volleyball at Santiago High School in Corona, Calif. ... played two seasons of varsity volleyball for the Sharks who went to the CIF-Southern Section Div. II finals in 2017 ... graduated in 2018 with honors.
