2017 (SENIOR): Entered four of the five CSUN meets…ran 23:07.10 over the 6k Big West Championship course to finish 53rd overall…turned in a 43rd-place showing at the 5k UCR Highlander Invitational (18:34.90) Oct. 14…was 85th on Sept. 16 during the UCR Invitational after going 22:32.90…finished 17th during the 4k Pepperdine Invitational Sept. 1 (15:57.70).
2016 (JUNIOR): Ran in all six meets for the Matadors…season best finish was 44th at the 5k Highlander Invitational after clocking a time of 18:58.84…best time on a 6k course was 23:22.58 at the season-opening UCR Invitational…finished 59th at the Big West Championship (24:42.3) and 218th at the NCAA Regional (23:51.60).
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of Eastlake High School...competed in both cross country and track at Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, Calif...earned All-Mesa League in cross country in both 2013 and 2014...the Titans won league titles in cross country (2013) and track & field (2013)...ran the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 meters for the track squad...played soccer where she earned first team All-League accolades in 2014...graduated with a 3.68 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Lorena and Luis Vasquez...a sociology major...has one older brother, Luis...says her favorite food is "everything"...chose CSUN because of the "beautiful campus and great environment for my academics"...says the toughest thing about being an athlete is "time management" and the best thing is "being able to compete and represent something other than yourself."
