2018 (SENIOR): Competed in all six events for CSUN…Finished a season best 48th over the 6k course at the Big West Championship (23:47.80)…ran a season best 6k time at the UC Riverside Invitational (22:27.10)...posted a 23:09.20 performance during the NCAA West Regional (210th overall)…named Academic All-Conference.
2017 (JUNIOR): Had the Matadors' top time (15:25.70) at the 4k Pepperdine Invitational as she placed ninth among the 44 competitors…went 22:12.10 in the 6k UCR Invitational to place 70th…was ninth at the 3.1m Mustang Challenge after running 18:49.30…turned in a 18:28.50 performance over the 5k course at the UCR Highlander Invitational…came in 37th and second among CSUN entries at the Big West Championship (22:12.70).
2016 (SOPHOMORE): Competed in all six meets…finished a season-best 38th at the 5k Highlander Invitational in 18:47.79…was 46th at the San Francisco Invitational in a 6k time of 23:21.40...clocked a 6k season-best (22:22.05) at the UCR Invitational…finished 52nd at the Big West Championship in 24:14.80 and went on to finish 187th at the NCAA West Regional in a time of 22:48.70…was one of four Matador runners named Academic All-Conference.
2015 (FRESHMAN): Competed in all seven meets for the Matadors as a freshman…finished a season-best fourth at the season-opening Pepperdine Invitational in 15:29.61…also finished in the top 25 at the San Francisco Invitational and the Highlander Invitational…finished 31st at her first Big West Championship in a career best time of 22:02.69…went on to finish 201st at the NCAA West Regional in a time of 23:44.00.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2015 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Granada Hills, Calif...competed in both cross country and track & field...was a team captain for the Cougars cross country team and competed in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 meters for the track squad...graduated with a 3.7 grade point average, earning Silver honors.
PERSONAL: Mother is Gloria Alvarenga....major is Public Health...has one younger brother, Fabricio and two younger sisters, Melissa and Jasmine...favorites include actor Jim Carrey and the TV show "The Office"...says the best thing about being an athlete is "having great teammates"....says the toughest thing about being an athlete is "staying awake in class after practice".
