HIGH SCHOOL: A 2020 graduate of Whanganui Collegiate School…was one of five fastest U18 sprinters in New Zealand one point of high school career…posted prep bests of :8.01 in the 60m, :12.07 in the 100m, :25.01 in the 200m, :44.86 in the 300m hurdles, and 19-5 1/2 in the long jump…won gold medals in the long jump and 4x100m and silver medals in the 100m and 200m at the 2019 Senior Girls Events National Secondary Schools Championships…won the junior 100m, 200m, and long jump Girls titles at the 2018 New Zealand Secondary Schools' Track and Field Championships…named team MVP of school’s soccer team from 2016-20 and served as team captain from 2018-20…selected school’s most improved hockey player in 2017 and team MVP from 2018-19.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Johnny and Kath Edwards…a Kinesiology-Physical Education major...favorites include New Zealand’s All Blacks Rugby team, Alison Felix, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Price, Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Reign, The Vampire Diaries, God’s Not Dead, Lasagna, Fettuccine, Silk Sonic, Dogs Cat, Summer Walker, Kehlani, H.E.R, and YouTube.com...chose CSUN because of the culture, the attitude and the opportunities…says greatest sports moment so far is winning the 100m, 200m, long jump, 4x100, and 4x400 at the New Zealand Championships…says the best thing about being an athlete is the feeling of being healthy, fit and accomplished…says the toughest thing about being an athlete is the drive, commitment, and motivation required especially on the hard days…says the best athlete she has competed against is Dan Carter…the most famous person she has met is Noah Beck…the person in history she would like to meet is Florence Griffin-Joyner…would like to switch places for one day with Beyonce…the two people she would like to have dinner with are Bri and Lee…the best advice she has been given is there is nothing that you cannot do, your potential is limitless…her advice to young people is don’t get soaked into social media, live and appreciate every moment of life because it is the most precious and valuable gift we can ever receive…her greatest hero is her mother because she is the best most inspirational woman she has ever had the privilege of knowing.
