
CSUN 16th After Opening Round of Bandon Dunes Championship

BANDON, Ore. - The CSUN men's golf team opened play at the Bandon Dunes Championship Friday and the Matadors carded a team round of 303 and are in 16th place.
Senior Michael O'Connor was the closest CSUN player to par as he finished at one-over 73 and is tied for 34th. Fellow senior Steven Molumby is tied for 52nd following a round of three-over 75 while the remainder of the Matador squad is in the lower half of the 91-player field.
Aaron Grimes is tied for 70th at five-over 77, Tim Snyder is tied for 76th at six-over 78 and Joey Varnam is tied for 81st at seven-over 79.
As a team, the Matadors are 13 shots out of the top-10 heading into round two on Saturday. Fellow Big West squad UC Davis holds the round one team lead at 281.
