NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The CSUN women's golf team defeated CSU Bakersfield Friday afternoon at Rio Bravo Country Club in the Matadors' final tuneup before the Big West Championship which opens Apr. 19.
The Matadors posted a team total of 301 while the host Roadrunners tallied a 312 total.
Junior Arinda Bhanaraksa had the low round of any player in the dual as she fired an even-par 72. Two other players in the CSUN lineup finished at 75 as Shenna DeLeon and Cesilie Hagen both finished at three-over for the day. Rebecca Bostrom, competing individually, also finished at three-over 75. Elisabeth Haavardsholm finished at seven-over 79 and Sharon Shin rounded out the CSUN scoring with an 11-over 83.
"It was definitely a nice kick start for conference," said CSUN head coach Gina Umeck. "I prefer playing a dual match above a full tournament prior to Big West because you don't tire yourself too much while staying sharp."
