NORTHRIDGE, CA - The CSUN men's golf team opened the spring portion of the 2015-16 season Monday at the LMU Invitational at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Lake Las Vegas, NV.
The Matadors completed 13 holes in round two before play was suspended due to darkness. CSUN opened with a round of 305 and are currently 10th as a team.
Senior Tim Snyder opened with a two-under 70 Monday morning and is currently three under through 12 holes in round two. Snyder is firmly in the top 10 heading into the conclusion of the second round on Tuesday. Junior Felix Mory opened with a 77 and is three over in round two, Tomas Skajem carded a 79 in round one and is also three over in round two. Tavit Garabedian, playing in his first tournament for the Matadors, opened with an 83 and is eight over in round two. Luis Calderon opened with a 79 and is currently 12 over in round two. Sam Engel, competing as an individual, opened with a four-over 76 but is even through 11 holes in round two.
"We're playing a different lineup than we did in the fall so some of the guys are playing their first tournament," said head coach Jim Bracken. "I expect all the guys to be better in the final round tomorrow."
The teams will complete round two Tuesday morning before playing the final round.
