NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN women's basketball team completes a four-game road trip to begin the 2018-19 season this week with games at Omaha and Drake.

The swing through the Midwest begins Friday night at Omaha. Tip is set for 5 p.m. PT with Omaha providing a video stream via their Mavs All-Access service.

The Mavs defeated USC Upstate 96-69 last Friday before dropping a 61-46 decision to Kansas State Monday night. Elena Pilakouta paces the Mavs in scoring (11.0 ppg), rebounding (6.0 rpg), and assists (2.5 apg). She has also blocked three shots, good enough for second on the team.

Rayanna Carter is second on the team in scoring with a 10.0 points per game average. She is also averaging 4.0 rebounds per game. This is the second meeting between CSUN and Omaha with the Broncos leading the all-time series 1-0.

CSUN heads down I-80 to meet Drake on Sunday for an 11 a.m. PT tip. The game will be the first for the Matadors on ESPN+, the paid service of the worldwide leader in sports. Links are available on GoMatadors.com.

The Bulldogs opened the 2018-19 with a pair of wins last weekend. Drake defeated Nebraska 83-77 Nov. 7 in Lincoln to open the season before coming home to defeat Western Illinois 98-71 last Sunday.

The Bulldogs host South Dakota Friday night before welcoming the Matadors to the Knapp Center. Drake is ranked first this week in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 and received three votes in the AP Top 25.

Five Bulldogs are averaging in double figures with Becca Hittner leading the way with a 15.5 points per game average. Sara Rhine earned Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday after averaging a double-double with 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in week one.

This is the first time that CSUN and Drake are playing women's basketball against each other.

The Matadors went 0-2 during the opening week of action. CSUN lost 88-73 at Idaho in the season opener Nov. 6 before dropping a 74-63 decision at Boise State Nov. 8. Channon Fluker has made 659 field goals in her career, breaking the old mark of 655 that was set by Ofa Tulikihihifo (2002-05, 06-07). By posting 17 points, Fluker moved past Tulikihihifo (1,632) for second place on the CSUN career scoring chart. Fluker has scored 1,640 points in 96 career games with the Matadors. CSUN assistant coach Ashlee Guay is the school record holder for career points with 1,761.

Freshman Jordyn Jackson averaged 11.0 points in her first two games in a CSUN uniform. Meghann Henderson averaged 10.5 points during the first week of the season.
