The CSUN women's tennis team travels to UC Davis Saturday
NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN women's tennis program travels to UC Davis Saturday for a Big West Conference dual. First serve is set for 11 a.m.

UC Davis 8-3, 2-1 in Big West duals after defeating Cal Poly 4-3 last Sunday on the road. Playing primarily out of the No. 4 singles slot, Nikita Pradeep leads the team in victories with eight (8-0). The doubles team of Kristina Breisacher and Lani-Rae Green has the most victories as the duo is 6-3 this season.

The Matadors fell to 1-4 last Saturday after dropping a 4-3 decision to Nevada. The Matadors opened the scoring by taking the doubles point. The Wolfpack's No.1 team, Blaga Delic and Claudia Herrero, who are ranked 52nd in Division I, defeated Elisa Elhadj and Alicia Dinkelmeyer, 6-4. The Matadors would earn the doubles point by winning the No. 2 and No. 3 matches. Monika Van de Vondel and Skyla Alcon earned the win for the Matadors at No. 2 doubles as the CSUN duo defeated Anastaysha Gorbacheva and Adriana Gergelyova 6-1. Kiryan Kim and Mari Taslagyan defeated Lili Fekete and Maria Tatarnikova, 6-2.

Herrero would go on to defeat Van de Vondel 6-3, 6-3 at No.1 singles to even the score 1-1. Alcon defeated Delic 6-4, 6-4 at No.3 singles to give the Matadors the lead. Elhadj would add on to the lead at No. 2 singles by defeating Gergelyova in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

However, Nevada would not go away easily. Fekete defeated Dinkelmeyer 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 to cut the lead in half at No.5 singles. Gorbacheva would go on to beat Taslagyan 6-3, 6-4 at No.6 singles to even up the dual score at 3-3 heading into the final match. Melissa Huchet defeated Kiryan Kim 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 at No.4 singles to secure the win for Nevada.
