ROSEVILLE, Calif. - Two CSUN golfers finished in the top eight and the Matadors posted their best finish of the Spring Tuesday, taking sixth at the Sacramento State Invitational at Sierra View Country Club.
After posting team rounds of 306-308 over two rounds on Monday, CSUN shot a blistering 292 on Tuesday to move into sixth place ahead of Cal State Fullerton and CSU Bakersfield. The Matadors' final round score was their second-lowest over 20 rounds this season.
"Very proud of the effort by the whole team today, top to bottom," said CSUNÂ head coach Gina Umeck. "Progress is an accumulation of small steps, and we took an important one today. We set a goal for the day and reached it. We set individual goals and met them. Solid all the way around."
