BOZEMAN, Mont. - The CSUN women's golf team, one of two teams under par through 36 holes, is in second place while senior Gracie Piar is third individually at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate Monday at Riverside Country Club.
The Matadors, coming off a tournament championship at the season-opening Wolverine Invitational in Utah (Sept. 8-9), fired rounds of 289-286 on Monday and trail first-place Montana by eight shots heading into the final round. At 1-under, 575, CSUN is one of just two teams in the field under par as the host Bobcats lead at 9-under 567. Gonzaga (577), California Baptist (584), and Idaho (584) round out the day one top five in the 11-team field.Â

Piar, who posted her first top-10 finish of the season in Utah, sits alone in third place at 4-under 140. She carded a blistering round of 4-under 68 to open the event, posting 10 birdies and four pars. Piar was 1-under through 12 holes, before finishing 3-under over her final six holes. In the afternoon's second round, she added three birdies and 11 pars to finish her round at even-par 72. Piar opens the final round just five shots back of individual leader Evan Heinz of Montana State, who finished the day at 9-under 135 (62-73).

- Following Piar, fellow senior Kim Turgut is also in the top-10 through two rounds after carding rounds of 73-70 on Monday. Turgut had four birdies and eight pars in round one's 1-over 73, before posting three birdies, 14Â pars, and a single bogey in a 2-under 70. She is currently tied for eighth at 1-under 143.
- Ariya Soldwisch is in the top-20, tied for 13th at 1-over 45 after posting rounds of 73-72. Soldwisch had three birdies in round one before adding five more in round two's even-par 72.
- Meghan Paracuelles had seven birdies over the first two rounds and is just outside the top-20. At 3-ovr 147, Paracuelles is tied for 23rd.Â
- Nicole Tanoue rounded out the CSUN scoring, tying for 30th at 6-over 150 following scores of 77-73.
