CSUN Tops CSU Bakersfield in Monday Dual Match

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The CSUN women's golf team narrowly defeated CSU Bakersfield in a Monday dual match at Bakersfield Country Club.
The Matadors and Roadrunners tied with team scores of 21-over 313 but CSUNÂ broke the tie with a lower score in the No. 5 position.
Alice Duan was the Matadors' low scorer as she finished second to CSUB's Ariel Lee at four-over 77. Lee led all players in the dual with a two-over round of 75.
Michelle Duan and Kayla Yn each tied for third with a round of five-over 78 followed by Shenna DeLeon who tied for sixth at seven-over 80.
Brooke Hamilton was 10th at 10-over 83 and Ashley Phelps completed the CSUNÂ scoring in 14th place at 20-over 93. Hamilton's 83 was one shot better than the Roadrunners' Macey Mills' 84 to clinch the dual win for CSUN.Â
The Matadors play their final regular season tournament of the season next Monday and Tuesday (Apr. 1-2) as CSUNÂ travels to Maricopa, Ariz. for the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes G.C.
