Behind 3rd Place Finish From Turgut, CSUN Takes 2nd at Yellowstone Intercollegiate

BOZEMAN, Mont. - The CSUN women's golf team carded a final round even-par 288 to finish second, while senior Kim Turgut tied for third to pace the Matadors at the conclusion of the Yellowstone Intercollegiate Tuesday at Riverside Country Club.
In two Fall tournaments, the Matadors now have first and second-place team finishes. On Tuesday, CSUNÂ followed up rounds of 289-286 on Monday with a final round 288 to finish the tournament at 1-under 863. Host Montana State pulled away with a final round 281 to win the team title at 16-under 848. The Matadors and Bobcats were the only teams in the 11-team field to finish under par as a team.

Turgut posted her best career finish on Tuesday, tying for third at 3-under 213. Tied for eighth at 1-under 143 through two rounds on Monday, Turgut opened the final round with four birdies on the front nine to make the turn at 3-under. Bogeys on two of her first six holes on the back nine dropped her back to 1-under before her fifth and final birdie at No. 16 moved her to 2-under where she finished the day.

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Following Turgut, fellow senior Gracie Piar also finished in the top 10, tying for sixth at 1-under 215. Piar opened the final round alone in third place at 4-under 140 before posting one birdie, 13 pars, and four bogeys in a 3-over round of 75.
- Ariya Soldwisch made it three Matadors in the top-10, tying for 10th at 1-over 217. After carding rounds of 73-72 on Monday. Soldwisch finished with four birdies in the final round to post an even-par 72.
- Nicole Tanoue made the biggest jump of the day, moving up eight spots following a final round 1-under 71. Tanoue had three birdies and 13 pars on Tuesday to move into a tie for 22nd at 5-over 221.
- Meghan Paracuelles rounded out the CSUN scoring, tying for 41st at 14-over 230 following rounds of 75-72-83.Â
